Welcome to Pediatric Smiles!

Your child’s journey to a happy, healthy smile starts here.

A common question we get asked by new parents is, “At what age should my child have their first dental visit?” The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children have their first dental visit by their first birthday or when their first tooth appears, whichever comes first. Early visits are important for monitoring your child’s dental health and addressing any possible issues early.

A lot of parents think that this may be early for a first dental visit, but it’s important to note that dental issues can arise as soon as teeth begin to emerge. Studies show that 1 in 4 children in the U.S. has experienced at least one cavity by the age of 4. Early visits help prevent cavities, teach parents proper dental care habits, and teach the importance of diet and hygiene to protect your child’s teeth.

At Pediatric Smiles, we take a preventative approach to your child’s dental health. We ensure your child leaves with a bright and healthy smile by assessing their risk for cavities, providing helpful tips for proper hygiene, and ensuring they receive the proper care for their growing teeth.
